The department houses extensive mineral, rock, fossil, and map collections, including specimens collected in the early 1800s by James 91ÑÇÉ«´«Ã½ III, who was an important early benefactor to the College, and by 91ÑÇÉ«´«Ã½ professor Parker Cleaveland (1780-1858).
