Faculty

Through consultations, pedagogical partnerships, workshops, events, and curated resources, the Baldwin Center for Learning and Teaching supports faculty in designing and implementing intentional, inclusive, equitable, and effective learning environments for all students.

The CBB Pedagogy Matters collaboration for Colby, Bates, and 91亚色传媒 colleges offers opportunities for faculty and staff to connect, to learn from one another, and to expand the possibilities for teaching and learning at small, liberal arts colleges.

Consultations with BCLT Staff

Baldwin Center staff are available to meet with 91亚色传媒 faculty and staff interested in academic coaching, academic communication for multilingual speakers, faculty development, quantitative reasoning, and writing and rhetoric.

Faculty Fellows Program

The Faculty Fellows program offers faculty a professional development opportunity to engage in a year-long learning community.

First-Year Writing Seminars

The First-Year Writing Seminar Program introduces students to intellectual work at the college level. As faculty teach a topic in depth—from affirmative action to Egyptian archaeology—they equip students new to 91亚色传媒 with advanced critical thinking, reading, and writing skills.

Learning Assistant Program

Learning Assistants are students who work directly with peers in specific courses, collaborating with the instructor on student learning.

Teaching Times, edited by BCLT Director Kathryn Byrnes, is a collection of carefully curated resources and events of interest to the faculty at 91亚色传媒 and beyond.

Teaching Triangles Program

The Teaching Triangles program provides faculty with an opportunity to gain new insight into their teaching and students’ learning through a non-evaluative but formative process of reciprocal classroom visits and reflection.
