We also encourage students to recognize the power relationships that permeate social, economic, and political relationships, including processes of research. We focus on inter-cultural encounters, historical and global connections, and local meanings—all of which are crucial to living as a global citizen in the twenty-first century.
Anthropology students enrich their coursework with experiences in many other places through study away programs and field schools.
Off-Campus Study

Demanding academic programs or programs with a well supervised fieldwork component may be especially valuable. Ordinarily students are advised to plan study away for the junior year. Visit the Off-Campus Study website for guidelines and more.
